June 30, 2015: Strathcona region strikes Community Health Network
On Friday, June 26, more than 170 people from across the region gathered at Thunderbird Hall in Campbell River to discuss the creation of a Community Health Network in the Strathcona region. First Nations leaders and health workers, local government officials and politicians, medical health professionals and others met for the all-day workshop to explore how coming together through a Community Health Network would support the health of the region.  See more  

March 31, 2015: Board adopts budget, stays financial course for the Strathcona Regional District
The Strathcona Regional District Board of Directors adopted the 2015-2019 Financial Plan at its March 26 meeting. March 13, 2014: Strathcona Gardens Flips the Switch on Energy Recovery System.
The Strathcona Regional District today celebrated the completion of the Strathcona Gardens Recreation Complex energy recovery project.  The new system of heat pumps and exchangers is designed to harvest waste energy from the arena's compressors and use it to heat the aquatic facilities.  view details

November 28, 2013: Strathcona Gardens Recreation Complex is the recipient of the Swim to Survive School Grant Program sponsored by the Lifesaving Society of BC
The Swim to Survive Grant is used to help provide a minimum of 3 in-water Swim to Survive lessons to Grade 3 children.  Grant funds may be used to help defray the costs of transporting students between teh school and the pool and instructor costs. view details

January 9, 2012: Regional District and Operators reach Agreement on Gorge Harbour Aquaculture Activity
The Regional District has today reached agreement with Island Sea Farms Inc. and Desolation Sound Oysters Ltd. concerning the operation of an aquaculture fishery located in Gorge Harbour on Cortes Island.  The agreement is the result of a mediated settlement process which was commenced in early 2012. view details
