Human Resources Manager

The Strathcona Regional District has an exciting career opportunity and is inviting applications for the position of human resources manager. Reporting to the chief administrative officer the human resources manager is responsible for providing guidance, support and leadership in the provision of HR services to the regional district.  This includes providing advice and assistance to department heads with respect to recruitment, performance management, contract administration, benefits and salary administration; disability management, organization development, and formulation of corporate personnel policies and procedures. The human resources manager is a key member of the labour management and negotiation teams.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a solid HR generalist background, possess strong leadership, facilitation, conflict resolution and negotiation skills and have a sound knowledge of the Labour Relations code, WorkSafe BC regulations, Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation.

The successful candidate will have completed a post-secondary degree or diploma in human resources, hold a CPHR designation and have a minimum of 5 years’ progressive human resources and labour relations experience in a unionized environment.
