Northern Electoral Area 'D'

Water Service

Strathcona Regional District's Northern Electoral Area 'D' Water Service provides water to approximately 1,135 services from the Jubilee Parkway to York Road. The majority of these services are for residential properties. The distribution network consists of 29.3 kilometers of water main. There are approximately 110 hydrants, 340 valves, and pressure reducing valves at McGimpsey and Storrie Creek.
 

Stage 2 water restrictions is now in effect for all of 

Northern Electoral Area 'D' Water Service Area

 

This means:

 

Watering trees, shrubs, flowers or vegetables as follows:

 

Odd-numbered house addresses water on Wednesdays and Sundays before 7:00 am or after 7:00 pm if using a sprinkler

 

     Even-numbered house addresses water on Tuesdays and Saturdays before 7:00 am and after 7:00 pm if using a sprinkler

 

Water anytime when using a hand-held container, micro-irrigation, drip-irrigations, or a hand-held hose with an automatic shut-off nozzle.

 

Lawn watering restrictions:

Newly planted trees, shrubs, flowers or vegetables:

 

Newly planted trees, shrubs, flowers and vegetables may be
watered by any method during installation and for the
following 24 hours after installation

 

Vehicles, buildings, sidewalks, driveways and pools:

 

Vehicles, windows and buildings may only be washed using

a hand-held container or hand-held hose equipped

with an automatic shut-off nozzle.

 

No person shall wash sidewalks, driveways and parking

lots except as necessary for applying a product such

as paint or stucco, preparing for paving or bricking, or to

comply with health and safety regulations
